Idaho VeteranS Home Services and Programs
Social Services
Social services are designed to assist residents with access to in house and community resources. The goal of these services is to help residents reach their maximum level of independence and thereby maximize their individual sense of self-worth.
Programs and Activities
With the assistance and support of various service organizations and volunteers, our residents enjoy many in-house activities, programs and community outings. Picnics, musical programs, plays, sporting events, fishing, bingo, chapel programs, storytelling and special parties are just a few of the recreational activities available.
We celebrate birthdays, special occasions, and anniversaries with our residents!
Facilities
Our residents have access to a wide range of facilities including game rooms, computer access, libraries, craft rooms, television rooms, chapels, outdoor patios and gardening areas. We also provide transportation so our residents may enjoy off-campus trips and recreational outings.
Medical Services
All three Idaho Veteran Homes offer comprehensive medical services as well as special arrangements for emergency and acute care needs.
Physician, laboratory, x-ray, pharmacy, dental, optometry and respiratory services are available. In addition, a team of therapists provide physical, occupational, and speech/language therapies.
Nursing Services
Our team of Licensed Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants provide a broad range of nursing services. Each nursing department is administered by a director of nursing.
Dietary Services
Meals are provided three times daily in an attractive and cheerful facility dining hall or by trays delivered to our residents' rooms. Residents also receive bedtime and between meal snacks.
Dietitians are available in each nursing care building to discuss food preferences and determine special dietary needs.
Religious Services
Clergy of all non-denominations are welcome at the Home to provide religious services, which are held in the chapel. The religious needs of our residents are coordinated by our religious activities coordinator.
Volunteers
Volunteers from veterans' organizations and other groups donate more than 1,000 hours of their time each month to the Veterans Homes, interacting with residents and providing valuable services. They also organize and sponsor social functions and holiday parties
